Greektown is a compact, single-block neighborhood in downtown Detroit centered on Monroe Street between Beaubien and St. Antoine. Originally settled by Greek immigrants in the late 19th century, the neighborhood retains its Greek restaurant identity — Pegasus, Astoria Pastry Shop, Santorini, Fishbone's, and Exodos still anchor the block — while the bar and nightlife scene around them has expanded to include Irish pubs (Old Shillelagh, Niki's Pizza), American sports bars, and casino-adjacent late-night spots.

The Hollywood Casino at Greektown (formerly Greektown Casino) is one of Detroit's three commercial casinos, sitting on the eastern edge of the neighborhood with hotel rooms, gaming floors, restaurants, and event spaces. Saint Andrew's Hall on Congress Street — Detroit's longest-running music venue, in operation continuously since 1980 — is on the neighborhood's southern edge and brings concert traffic to the area most nights of the week. The Atheneum Hotel anchors the western end as the neighborhood's only boutique hotel.

Practical notes: parking is in the structures off Monroe and St. Antoine, plus the casino's attached structure. The Greektown stop on the QLINE streetcar and the People Mover's Greektown station both serve the neighborhood directly. The block is heavily pedestrian — Monroe Street between Beaubien and St. Antoine is closed to vehicle traffic on most summer evenings. Many bars and restaurants stay open past 2 AM. The Greektown Casino's hours are 24/7.
