Why this site exists

I built TownBuzz because I kept missing events I wanted to go to. Local concerts, neighborhood festivals, farmers markets, charity 5Ks, comedy nights, car meets — the things that make a place feel like a place — were always scattered across a dozen different sites, calendars, and social feeds. By the time I heard about something interesting, it had usually already happened.

The fix seemed obvious: put everything in one place, updated daily, free, no signup. So I made it for myself, and then realized I was probably not the only person in Metro Detroit who'd appreciate not having to check fifteen different sites every weekend. Now it's here for anyone who wants it.

TownBuzz is independent and community-focused. There's no venture money, no algorithm trying to manipulate what you see, no paywall. Promoted placement is available for organizers who want their events to reach more people, but everything else is just events, listed honestly, organized by date and city.

What's covered

TownBuzz covers Metro Detroit broadly — Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Genesee, Livingston, Lapeer, Lenawee, Monroe, and St. Clair counties. From major venues like Comerica Park and Pine Knob Music Theatre to neighborhood farmers markets, church festivals, comedy nights, charity 5Ks, family activities, and Cars & Coffee meets. If it happens in Metro Detroit and the organizer puts it on the public web somewhere, the goal is for TownBuzz to surface it.

Signup:

Not required to browse. Optional sign-in (Google) saves events to your list and subscribes you to a weekly digest email (which you can turn off in your profile).
